  • Jesse Owens was an American world class athlete in Track and Field.

  • Recognized as the greatest Track and Field athlete of all time

  • Set three world records and tied another all in under 1 hour’s time at the University of Michigan-known as the “greatest 45 minutes ever in sports”

  • Won 4 Gold medals at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin

  • As a black man and as the single most decorated athlete at the Belin games, single handedly crushed Hitler's myth of Aryan supremacy.

  • Awarded ESPNs top 10 greatest athletes of the 20th century

  • Noted as BBCs Top 6 Sports  Personalities of the Century

  • Served as an inspiration and continued to fight against racial oppression throughout his life
