Graduation

7:00-8:30 PM
- Arrive at the SECU Arena at 5pm. Park in lots 13, 14, or 19 and expect about a 10 min walk to the arena, or take the shuttle which runs from lots 13 and 14. Students cannot be dropped off at SECU Arena
- Proper attire must be worn
- Guys—collared shirt, tie, dress pants, and dress shoes are appropriate
- Girls—light-colored dress and dress shoes are appropriate
- Flip flops, sneakers, and jeans are NOT appropriate
- Gowns and chords will be worn, caps and tassels will also be worn
- Cap and Gowns have been distributed – if there is a problem contact Mr. Velten or Mrs. Heaps
- This will allow adequate time to make adjustments if there are issues with the cap and gown.
- THIS IS A DIGNIFIED EVENT; APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR IS EXPECTED FROM GRADUATES AND THEIR GUESTS!
- ABSOLUTELY NO ONE IS PERMITTED IN THE ARENA WITHOUT A TICKET (INFANTS INCLUDED)
- No balloons or signs are permitted in the arena
- No standing on chairs
- Towson University is a tobacco-free campus.
Information for guests
- All members of the audience must remain in their seats throughout the ceremony and the recessional.
- Fire Laws prohibit guests from blocking aisles to take pictures
- Photographs must be taken from your seats
- A professional photographer will photograph each graduate as he or she receives a diploma. These pictures can be purchased at a later date.
- Please hold your applause and refrain from yelling out as students are awarded their diplomas until the last name is called to ensure each student’s name is heard.
