Football Fundraiser, November 12th & December 3rd

The football team is having its first dinner/party fundraiser at Hightopp's Backstage Grille on Thursday, November 12th from 6:00-9:00pm.

We will be on the back deck (it is heated and enclosed). Please come have a great time and support our team. A portion of ALL proceeds will go directly to the football team. Also, the money will help to pay for a football banquet, as well as a portion of the weight room.

We also will have another night at Hightopp's, Thursday, December 3rd 6:00-9:00pm.

Please invite everyone you know to come to our party! Past Dulaney grads, friends, etc. — everyone is welcome.

Boys' Cross Country Victory

Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team for their victory last Thursday in the 4A North Regional Championship. The win was the boys’ last regional win since 2006, a long drought for a cross country program at Dulaney.

The hard fought nail-biting victory over rival Westminster was led by senior Matt R. in 2nd place. Underclassmen Jake M.(8th) and Andrew W. (10th) had the best races of their career, while the senior trio of Jay S.(12th), Buck S.(11th) and Hal M.(13th) had solid races to seal the win. Sophomore Quinn M. rounded out the Top 7 in 19th place.

The boys next take their championship badge of honor and defend it at the Maryland State Championship meet on Saturday at Hereford High.

Field Hockey Wins Regional Championship

Dulaney won the 4A North Regional Championship 3 -2 against Chesapeake AA! The girls takes on Severna Park on Monday at 7pm at Broadneck High School. Come and support the Team in the State Semi-Final Game!

Dulaney High School Named in Top 6% of High Schools

Dulaney High School has been named by Newsweek Magazine and the Washington Post as among the top six percent of public high schools in the nation for 2009. Dulaney and eight other Baltimore County high schools which earned this distinction in 2009 represent more than a third of all Baltimore County public high schools.

Consistent with the Baltimore County Public Schools Blueprint for Progress, Dulaney High School has demonstrated continuous progress in expanding all students' access to highly rigorous courses. This effort is evident in the strong participation by students at Dulaney High School in Advanced Placement courses and Advanced Placement exams.

The Board of Education of Baltimore County expresses to Principal Patrick S. McCusker its congratulations and gratitude for his services and the services of the entire staff at Dulaney High School.

National French Week, November 9th-13th

National French Week is being celebrated at Dulaney next week (Nov 9-13). We will be hosting our first film of the French Film series on Thursday, Nov 12 (download flyer). Entrance is free for French Club members and $2.00 for non-members. Pizza and drinks will be served and extra-credit opportunities will be available for French students.

Dulaney Boys JV Soccer Team Takes County Title

October 22nd was a picture perfect night at Franklin High School for a soccer championship game. The Dulaney players were hoping to cap their 8-1 season with a victory over rival Towson High. Team high scorer O’Neal M. put the Lions on the scoreboard first with just minutes to go in the first half. O'Neal and Austin B. each added another goal in the second half and with exemplary defense, the Lions shut out the Generals 3 – 0 to win the County Championship. Congratulations to the JV soccer team and Coach Ben Pardew on a successful season.

Badminton Season Summary

The Lions finished their season with an overall 13-1 record. The team finished first in their division and second in the county.

Individual County Tournament:

  • Girls' Doubles: Keertana A. & Danise F. - GOLD Medal
    (Keertana & Danise finished with an 18-0 record, while only giving up one game!!)

Boys' Doubles:

  • Jesse D. & Sam W. - BRONZE Medal
  • Cody & Eli S. - 4th Place

Mixed Doubles:

  • Fan W. & Chris F. - SILVER Medal

Dulaney High School's Athletic Hall of Fame

Dulaney High School’s Athletic Department will induct 3 former student-athletes, and 1 retired teacher/coach into the 2009 class of Dulaney’s Athletic Hall-of-Fame on Saturday, November 7, 2009 during Homecoming festivities.

Celebrating more than 45 years of athletic and academic excellence, the 2009 class represents some of the very best to have participated in Dulaney’s school history. The 2009 inductees are; George Gernand (deceased) – retired teacher/coach 1984, Scott Head – graduation 2001, Aimee Vaughn Sharpe – graduation 1994, and Tom Gill – graduation 1977.

A ceremonial dinner will be held at Dulaney High School at 6:00 p.m. in the Satellite Cafeteria, following the 2:00 p.m. football game between Dulaney and Parkville.

Prior to the dinner an Alumni hospitality tent will be open during the game for former students to visit with the Hall-of-Fame Class, and to catch up on memories.

Ticket prices for the dinner and the game are $30.00
